Just because…

I just thought I’d share.

One of my many desktop images and it came up in the rotation today. This image was taken a little over a year ago and is the best (IMHO) of a series. Needless to say, it was a difficult series of pics. The picture is of Boeing’s first airliner flying ‘in formation’ with it’s latest.

Well, formation is a loose term here. The 787 is passing the the model 40 (Boeing’s first airliner) near Mount Rainer. The Model 40 here is a restored 40C and is the only Model 40 flying (of the 3-4 that are left). The Model 40 is flying balls-to-the-walls and the 787 is ‘coasting by’. A third plane is somewhere in between :)!

I am not related, that I know, to the owners – cool coincidence in the name.

Clicking the above gives you a cool picture to re-size to your needs.

These links are fun too.

  2. Thanks, Thomas.

BTW, I read that the first 787 has been delivered to ANA in Japan and is now undergoing preparations to enter service. It’s about time!
