I’m about 2/3’s the way through this amazing book by Peter Singer. It details battlefield robotics being used today and likely to be on the field in the near future. All the ‘buy book’ sites have extremely positive reviews on it and I have to concur.

His writing style is very approachable, given the subject, filled with numerous amusing anecdotes and pop culture references. Given the subject you might expect, and will be pleased, to find relevant references to Star Trek, Terminator, The Matrix and more. He covers everything from the systems themselves to the development process, usage doctrine (or lack there of) and ramifications of the technology.

Some reviewers, while loving the book, felt that it strays at times and gets off topic. I don’t agree as the diverse discussions always circle back and make amazing (and sometimes disturbing) sense.

Science Fiction fans, science and military buffs will love this book!
